Drawn October 25th - 26th, 2008. This is a drawing of my LOTR fan fic character Ariel and my good friend ~PheobeMeryll's LOTR fan fic character Amlaith, on my LOTR rpg. I think I may have gone through Ariel's story with one of my other drawings of her... She is the princess of Gondor and has a grave illness, put upon her by the evil elf Morloth. Amlaith is a Ranger of the North come to Gondor to help with the war against Harad.

The stupid scanner cut off a lot of the bottom of the drawing!!!!!

[EDIT] Wanted to add some stuff... what's behind the drawing.

In the words of her brother, Aragorn III, King of Gondor to Princess Ariel's healer, Nimmír, elf-maiden of Lórien: ..."The course of strong feelings causes my sister to weaken to a greater extent, such as hate - or love. But that is not the cheif reason." He lowered his voice. "If she were to fall in love, a marriage would follow, then children. The illness my sister has would not permit a healthy pregancy, she would either die in childbirth, losing the child as well, or lose the child while it was still in the womb. That, lady, would completely destroy her." He took a deep breath and spoke in a normal tone. "I wish to keep that pain from her, in any way I can.

"As for how ill she is, she succumbs to cold and heat easily; she cannot stand in direct sunlight, or she will faint; her immune system is even weaker than herself, and any sickness, such as the common cold, can make her dreadfully ill, or even kill her; and as I have said before, strong feelings exhaust her. One more thing, she will purposefully do things that she knows will harm her..."

For all of her ill-strewn life (since she was 7), Aragorn has not permitted young men to see his sister unless it was greatly important or she was related to them (such as her cousins Huor and Túrin). She has not known any kind of love and now she has been thrown into the path of the young Ranger Amlaith, a friend of her cousin Huor. He intrigues her and she likes to be near him because he does not fear her. Strange feelings are developing for this Ranger that Ariel has never known, filling her heart and mind with confusion...
