Uncertainty

...He stopped suddenly when he realized Altáriel was not beside him. He looked back to see her enter a room. He ran his hand through his hair and backtracked to the room. He stood in the doorway as the elven-Lady sat on the bed.

"I need rest..." she said softly, sighing.

"You need much more than rest, Lady," Huor said. "You have been caring for everyone else, you need someone to care for you." At once he regretted speaking so quickly his mind and said, "I speak too boldly." He bent his head.

Then Altáriel looked at Huor in wonder, for the thought never entered her mind, that she should be cared for. She had spent most of her life caring for the peoples of her Wood, and caring for herself. She had never thought of someone else taking care of her, save her sister. "Nay, you speak truth," she confessed. She looked into the eyes of Huor, so full of concern and compassion, and again an odd feeling ran through her body. A tinge of red appeared on her cheeks and she lowered her head.

Huor felt a warming of his heart and could not help but smile when he noticed Altáriel's fair cheeks gain color. "Well, I should take my leave, Lady. Rest well." He turned and proceeded to close the door. Just before the door shut, he heard the elven-maid say, "Please, call me Altáriel." He paused, then closed the door.

I've been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil but have never been formally trained. I've taken a few art classes but none of them have really taught me what I most wanted to learn, so I am pretty much self-taught. I write and hope to become a published author. Also, I play piano and have for years. :aww:

Good morning all,

I actually started drawing last night!! :excited: I recieved a note from =Kadajo informing me that I was to give her a prize commission for the contest at =disney-princess-club, she won second place. :) So, for some reason, when I'm to draw someone else's character, I get really inspired to draw. Probably because it's something new that I haven't drawn before. :shrug: Well, I started on her prize last night and then worked on a portrait I really need to finish. I'm also almost finished with commission #2, I just need to do blending and highlighting. *sigh* I've been working on digital drawings of Esmeralda, Ariel, and one of the Disney protraits I did of ~Midnitergrl. Esmeralda is going to be Halloween themed, because for some reason I always lose inspiration for drawing her as her normal self... but, both she and Ariel are close to being finished. :woohoo: I also want to do a digital drawing of Jasmine sometime, I've got an idea for her that I need to get out of my head.

School's pretty good. This is the last week for Photoshop II, and I'm pretty much finished with all my projects for that class. I just submitted assignment III for my website class this morning, I really need to finish my home page because it's due next week, but I need some help with some things... I also need to work some more on my physics homework. Tomorrow I find out what I got on exam 2. I hope I got at least a B.

Commission Me!

Since I have started commissioning I thought I would open my commissions to deviantART to see if I can mayeb get more. As I cannot find a job at the moment, I need to find some way to make some money. If you want a commission, please note me, or if you know someone who would like one, send them over. :) Note that it takes me two months or more to finish a drawing, especially now that school has started.

Pricing (if you have any tips on pricing, please share!):

Base price for an 11"x14" drawing is $30 - price varies depending on what is to be drawn and shipping and handling.

11"x14" in colored pencils - I'm not sure what I would price that as I'm not that great with my colored pencils, though I would add a supplies fee to that since my pencils shrink so quickly.

Base price for an 81/2"x11" drawing is $20 - price varies depending on what is to be drawn and shipping and handling.

81/2"x11" in colored pencils - same as the 11"x14".
